>confusing an intelligent, well thought-out plot with Interstellar
They knew English the entire time. They only showed up to teach Amy Adams how to speak their language, so she could teach others with her book, then immediately leave.

Anon, are you retarded?

>Learning a language lets you see the future
Exposure to their language reconfigures the student's synapses to overcome the limitations of linear time. It's an SF premise that's internally consistent with the story.
There's no such excuse in Interstellar why the future humans couldn't just send an English message back into the past, and had to trick Cooper into manipulating a watch hand.

for some reason Hollywood has to be retarded whenever they do a movie about space travel or ayylmaos
Passengers was probably the best sci-fi of the year and it's still Hollywood drivel
I find it ironic that people shit on interstellar's library scene, when the bedroom scene in 2001 Space Odyssey was just as silly and it's considered one of the best films of all time

Yeah, no.

Anon no one wants to watch a movie about a computer attached to lathe in space. For all the bullshit in Passengers, it made at least a token attempt at nailing some basic space stuff like when Pratt tosses the door as reaction mass.
I'm glad a working knowledge of Newtonian mechanics is finding it's way into blockbuster films and extant TV shows.
