I was a little young to match the kids on this show, but close enough to remember some of that. Plus my parents never let me watch 80s horror. It wasn't really until college in 2000 that I got into it.

I finally got around to watching this and just finished watching the first season.

I think it's more than a knockoff. I think it's a solid 80s coming of age movie, just made today.

And the story and characters were more than just nostalgia. It felt like a honest look at the decade, not just a cash in on some fad. Plus I love alt dimension and secret government experiment kino.
