I really wouldn't call Brosnan underrated. Even if people hate his films, he was always well regarded as Bond.
Connery > Craig (Casino Royale) > Brosnan (Goldeneye) > Craig (others) > Moore > Brosnan (others) > Dalton > Lazenby

I wouldn't go so far as to call Craig shit (though his last 2 films have been shit), but this is a pretty spot on assessment

>CR Craig way higher than Dalton
Makes no fucking sense, especially if we're talking LTK Dalton who was essentially the same as CR Craig.
Quantum of Solace is underrated

it's a really good companion piece to CR and, while it obviously suffered from the writer's strike, it's a better character study than Skyfall or Spectre

I agree. QoS was my favorite Craig Bond.
I'd rather watch self-contained Bond stories, instead of more shit lore about Bond's upbringing or his boo hoo dead parents. And I don't think they should have brought Blofeld into this generation. He just doesn't work.
QoS is the most straightforward story and it's fast-paced in a good way.

Brosnan = Connery > Craig
Can't rank Moore and Dalton without seeing any of their films.
>>80559612
even if the modern Bond movie has backed away from the grandiose supervillain plots of the old movies, they still picked good motives/ambitions for Le Chiffre (money/finance) and Silva (information, revenge)
QOS ended up being a plot over......water
And Bond going on a rampage of revenge over being betrayed by his girlfriend of all of a week

Bond/M in Skyfall is ironically the closest we've gotten
Brosnan looks the part, but he's a fucking Paddy. How did he get the job of a British icon, fuck knows.
>>80558908
Brosnan is the quintessential Bond. He was in the best Bond movies. Connery has the fucking unsexiest accent ever.
I always thought Brosnan was a pretty shitty Bond because the entire time I just pictured him as still playing his Remington Steele character. His Bond doesn't feel like Bond at all.

Natalya was pretty good in GoldenEye

I actually agree with you OP. Nothing gets as comfy as watching those JB Spike TV marathons.
