It's become one of those things where more revolves around the label earned of "i'mmm such a nerd/a dudebro that is cool for watching cool stuff" by watching it, than the movie itself. Its success seems to lie in the fact that it gets everyone a label they like: dudebros can say they're down to earth by watching it, nerds can say they're nerdy, girls can say that they're not like the other girls.
