My knowledge of it is that it's a sort of story anthology, the quality between them varies. I've seen caps and the colors are beautiful though if that's your thing

it's a film based on which dreams he had up until then that affected and inspired him in life. lot of it pertains to japanese culture that ameriplebs just don't get so therefore the movie feels boring. akira was also influenced by tarkovsky who worshipped kurosawa. that's why scenes are drawn out because the film wants to set a dreamlike mood.

it's not a bad film by any stretch. i thought it was beautifully filmed and i would love to find a rare copy of the soundtrack (one of best i ever heard). the last segment was the best imo. it affected me a lot.
