Professor X explicitly states how he first met Logan during the events of X1 in Logan.
This first encounter couldn't happen after the events of DoFP

It's never explicitly stated that the original trilogy never happened. We know The Last Stand couldn't have taken place because Jean and Scott are alive when. Wolverine wakes up in 2023 but wether X-Men and X2 took place or not is never made clear. The events of the statue of liberty being referenced in Logan means that at the very least some of the things in X-Men happened in some shape or form

Neither he nor X-24 had a fully working healing factor in Logan. Logan's healing factor was destroyed and X-24's was still developing. This is why neither of them could heal through a bullet to the brain in Logan.

What doesn't make sense is that it's a bullet from a handgun but it tears away his head like buckshot.
