Sentai designs are supposed to look plastic and simplistic, the japs have a self awareness to know they are not trying to convey something that would look in place "in reality".

Here you have them trying to imagine what and advanced high tech suit that had the ability to materialize from some sort of energy form would look like while trying to make it match a campy cartoony motorcycle body suit.

It worked for transformers only because bay didn't even try to make them look like actual transformers, in this it just shows it doesn't work.

Same reason why Wolverine doesn't wear the suit, it's impossible to make it not look retarded in real life. It's impossible to try and make power rangers look like something closer to "realism".
