The sessions with Doc highlight how each characters past has influenced their development and set of abilities.
Ptonomy - remembers every little detail of his mothers death, and wow would you look at that he is a character who goes into Davids mind and gets mad at his incomplete memories. Shows his hypocrisy and inability to deal with his own memories, lashes out because of it.
Kerry (girl) - fearful without Carrie her older dude. Feels fine when he's around but scared without even though she's basically the best hand to hand combatant in the show. Shows that she may be physically strong but with her emotionally/mentally strong counterpart she is a no factor.
Byrd - in real life she's in charge of helping David deal with his feelings/emotions/mental health but is actually emotionally crippled and can't deal with her own loss of Oliver.

Christ I hate how tv has to turn on anything that normies start to show interest in. All of you dumb dumbs loved this show the first two episodes but now that it's in a slow rising action with slow reveals and still a bit of confusion, you think Noah is a pretentious prick and you have the show all figured out because m-muh intellect. So you're basing character development on what is essentially an extended fantasy sequence where everyone is repeatedly demonstrated to be having false memories. These one dimensional at best characters eating bullshit from a demon in an alternate reality is not growth. Ok well thank you actually understanding parts of the show. And I understand your gripes. The issue I have is with all the other tv posters complaint about pacing, cliffhangers, and this apparently non-existent exposition when this was all laid out in the first two episodes. There was definitely plot progression ("I don't need your mind just your body") and character development (seeing the flaws and pasts of many characters). I'm not saying Noah is ten steps ahead like super fans are, but to make a mini series about schizophrenia actually being a mutant parasite feeding off of potentially the most powerful mutant we've ever seen so far is something he's done a good job with. People expecting David to go ham with his powers and 1v1 this demon are retarded because he literally hasn't shown any conscious control over any part of his powers. I think people are making it sound more pretentious than it is. Sure Noah is using some convoluted themes and using color/sound/visuals to represent some things that go way over my head, but just because people don't get it, they assume Noah is some try hard prick just out to jack off his own ego. Once we see the finale then we can go back and see how he ties things together. I have a feeling it's going to be pretty simple once we see the ending

You have very different definitions of good pacing and plot progression. Legion, like Fargo, has no sense of development, no gradual build up or deliberate peaks and valleys from episode to episode, no episodes that stand on their own from a thematic storytelling perspective, little to no characterization, and a tone that tries to encompass anything based on the given scene and ends up being nothing.
