Regardless they weren't mainstream enough for the HBO watching masses. Conversely, 4chan had miniscule pull at the time and SA didn't have meme generating penetration in its TV forum.

Season 3 was shit and Calamity Jane lezzing out was some of the clumsiest writing I've ever seen.

The thespian troupe was boring and pointless even if he did have some good lines.

Swearengen became less based as the show went on.
