what does /tv/ think of Rogue One?
Liked it, but was annoyed Alan bot didn't pick up any blaster rifles in his last stand scene
Meh
Casio McAccent can suck a dick
It was pretty strong but the first act definitely felt a bit meddled with and the main character and her story and arc get lost in the jumble of the action climax (true of 95% of all action movies now).

made me hate star wars again

forgettable characters
by the numberes story
the fanservice was entertaining, everything else very boring.

I only recently watched it online, so it was just some recording of a theater screen. I thought the movie was shit.
Maybe I'll change my mind after watching it in HD, but I think that my experience with the low quality version just shows how poor the characters and story were despite good visuals

It helps mask Tarkin though
Forgettable.

I can't even remember what happened in this movie. other than long battle at the end with lasers and shit.

What part of did you like?
TFA did a good job of capturing the feel of Star Wars, even if it recycled a lot.
Rogue One failed as a Star Wars movie and a war movie
(not?) surprised by the contrarian reaction thus far in the thread. It was celebrated here the first couple weeks it was out.
It's good. Better than TFA. A slightly watered down version of a Star Wars "war movie" fans have wanted for a long time. Some interesting world building and characters, awesome set and costume design and aesthetic. And yeah, that Vader scene was awesome.

> muh characters die at the end, so brutal, such an intense war, made me get feels

Overall the pacing was good. I liked Alan Tudyk-bot pretty good. The Vader scenes were GOAT. Good tone. Overall it didn't feel rehashed. I enjoy TFA for the most part as an entertainment but it's more or less the same as A New Hope.
