This could be kinda cool if it's set either before or after the OT. Would be cool seeing the first matrix where everything is perfect and people reject it and it crashes, with the first One desperately trying to unplug humanity as they reject their reality and go mad. TFA was just so Disney formulaic.
It was like scrap fan fiction, mirroring the plot of a previous work almost exactly, just amping everything up with no explanation.

If I never see TFA again in my life, I wouldn't care, but I wouldn't mind seeing Episode 1 or 2 another time here or there.

R1 however, was a different beast, it was unique and understood that it had to be its own film - it had the benefit of NOT being a core Star Wars film, so it didn't have to have the same themes and emphasis and they could really take risks.

Wish they would tone down the CGI in it though, the space battles just don't have the weight that they did in the original trilogy.

For me it was Avatar (2009), Godzilla (1988), Spiderman (2002).
