Why do I feel this way. I am unable to express emotions in front of my parents and whenever they catch me laughing or talking to myself they think something is wrong with me like I'm on drugs. I can't watch movies with my dad anymore because I just can't get into it when he's in the same room

I wouldn't say I practice it but I do try smiling in the mirror when I'm alone because I can't seem to pull a 'fake' smile.
When I smile genuinely whether triggered by another person or by a funny or happy thought I have a really nice attractive smile but the second I try to force it under any pressure I look like a fucking retard.
