People pay for service. Shit service is supremely grating and unnerving. Humans being able to understand other humans on a contextual level is tantamount. You can automate many things, service is not one of them. At least not in a general sense. Could a robot make sushi? Sure. Could a robot ever make good sushi? Not within the next century. Understanding and dealing with emotions makes us who we are, until you make artificial intelligence that can contextualize emotions like a human being and not like someone with autism or down syndrome, humans will be important I'm service.

From a tipping perspective, we drew straws amongst the wait staff to see who would get the Red Hats. If you're not familiar, it's a society of older white women who are exclusively married to doctors and lawyers. Women with more money than God and who have never done anything other than pop a few shitheads out to earn any of it. They're usually not bad people, but they come from an era where they think that quarters are a generous tip.
From a pure asshole perspective, I once had a guy stand up and start screaming in my face because I told him we were out of honey mustard. He was a 60 year old fat white guy who ordered chicken tenders. He asked for honey mustard as his choice of sauce, I apologized and said we were out and offered alternatives. He got blood red, stood up and started screaming at me, calling me a liar and saying YOU'VE ALWAYS HAD HONEY MUSTARD DON'T LIE TO ME. His son calmed him down and started to apologize to me and told me that he also loves barbecue sauce, just that I needed to bring a lot of it.

Not him, because the physical aspect really isn't that difficult. The worst one was when I worked in an upscale steakhouse, because I had to wear dress shoes all day on tile. That shit starts to hurt after just a couple of hours, especially when you're trying not to slip in the kitchen when the grease starts to accumulate.
The most difficult aspect, by far, was the mental juggling of waiting tables. I know it probably doesn't look like much, but there's a steady diet of refills/ice/ketchup/sugar/napkins/utensils and other shit you've got to keep track of on the fly as people are asking you these things when you're on your way to do something else. Plus you have to keep general track of when you're due back at which table, and why. You want to be attentive without hovering, so you're trying to space out enough time for people to look at the menu, order entrees after appetizers, another round of drinks, dessert, and then give them the check without seeming pushy. If I didn't know the customer, I just automatically assumed that it was me sitting there and tried my best to give them the type of service I would expect. It gets tough, and sometimes you're slammed as fuck and you can't give the service you want.

I've told many people work at a fast food place for 1 week and I guarantee you will look at black people differently. Everyone I worked with had multiple stories of black people doing fucked up shit or being complete dicks for no reason. I'm not a racist nor were my co workers but it was just a simple fact 9 out of 10 times a black customer was going to be a problem. That's why the news and social media piss me off. Blacks aren't some victims who deserve to be praised the majority of them are awful people. Oh and I'm half black.

Nice try, faggot. I've never even been to Myrtle Beach but I know he's telling the truth. You will find that kind of shit anywhere you go. Blacks in large groups are noisy, cancerous scum. Our black host/manager would even make sure to seat them alongside a wall towards the back, because they literally cannot stop themselves from crowding walkways and being a general nuisance to everybody else.

>>80413192
You missed out the truly sad part where he mentions how he's waiting because it gives him the ability to go to auditions.
He didn't stop acting and get a job, he took a shitty job that most people have before they get their first role because he can't face the fact that he had his shot and missed it. He's actively hampering his own life because he still believes he'll make it in Hollywood.

>But that doesn’t mean actor Chris Owen is sour about his post-acting career.

The free market doesn't work with healthcare you dumb person. It's great for almost everything else, but you're not a customer stroking your chin, making informed decisions on your choice of healthcare provider when you get hit by a truck and put in a coma. You're also not some special snowflake who likes his pancakes done a certain way when you get a radial fracture in your fucking femur. When it comes to healthcare, everyone should be given what they need by a well-equipped expert regardless of their ability to pay, despite the complications of government control, so they can get better again and start paying taxes and buying things.
>>80418648

>>80418682

>>80418756
still a better job than a waiter at a sushi restaurant.
>>80418801
My point was that he wouldn't be able to have that job. To be an acting coach you need to actually convince people you can teach them how to act.
You might as well say that he could probably get a nice job as a rocket scientist.

The only reason why your taxes are enough to pay for all your social program is because you don't spend shit on defense. But once the USA pulls troops from your nanny states and under Trump it's a real possibility, you'll have the same system just like in the USA. Although US can afford to provide some form of universal health care insurance, since it's rich you will not be able to do so, because all of your money will go to defense.
>>80416499

Without Americans paying through the nose, countries with free healthcare like mine wouldn't have access to the best new medicine and technology.
Sucks for you guys but it's better for the global population as a whole. And you have the highest GDP in the world so you CAN afford it. Just educate your populace on the importance and necessity of insurance.

Cook here. I feel bad for servers/bartenders sometimes, because all I have to do is read a ticket and make the food. They have to deal with talking to dozens of people per shift, smiling all the time, being friendly...
