I know this is a bait thread but as a fan of horror I'm a little upset that the term 'social thriller' is being credited to this. Horror movies have been playing off the social climates of the times for years. From the satanic panic, to the rise American serial killer to commercialism you name it it's been done.
This movie wasn't as exciting and subverting as it's lauded to be. It was basically just Guess Who's Coming To Dinner meets Rosemary's Baby meets The Stepford Wives which is unfortunate cause you could actually do some interesting things with the central premise.
