To me, Grizzly Man characterizes mental illness without explicitly calling it out. People tolerated Tim's erratic behaviour because he was ultimately a sweet, empathetic person, but too many people couldn't work paat that to challenge his ignorance.

I don't think this is Herzog's best but it's underrated.
