>about 8th or 9th grade
>spend the night at a friend's house that I've never been to before
>we goof off for hours, then decide to watch a movie
>sheltered me has never seen any Monty Python, so we decide to watch holy grail
>I think its the funniest thing ever, we all crack up and have a great time
>everyone but me falls asleep on the couches
>movie ends
>intermission music starts
>friend's sister is asleep on the couch, laying on top of the remote
>the music keeps playing
>try to turn the tv off, can only turn off the screen
>music keeps playing
>cannot figure out how to turn of the audio
>music keeps playing
>with every loop, I feel my soul being tainted and broken a bit more
>music keeps playing
>music keeps playing
>music keeps playing
>finally crawl out of the room and fall asleep on the floor in the hallway next to the stairs at about 4am
I've been to heck and lived to tell the tale

the one time I saw 2001 in theaters included the intermission, never saw it when I watched it at home. think it paced out the movie a lot better, actually.

The intermission in How The West Was Won had dramatic music and some background scenery stills as I recall.
