The books describe it as being a large two handed sword four fingers wide. Its also made of Valyrian steel, which is incredibly light and strong. Hell, its not even the most ridiculous weapon in the series. Eddard Stark can only barely lift Robert Baratheons warhammer and he was known to swat men down like flies with it when he was in his prime. The Mountains' sword isn't specially made but is described as seven feet of scarred metal.

What I'm saying is, its a fantasy TV show and you're complaining about realism, and thus a faggot.
