She defined music for awhile and has pretty much never stopped preforming or changing her sound. There's a lot of documentaries about her that basically boil down to saying that every thing she does is a performance, really interesting stuff. Not to mention she's been a singer, director, actor, writer, model and photographer, keeping up with each (aside from film) into her 70's.

I am totally comfortable with saying he's the best director of his generation.

None of his colleagues have his track record.

Coppola, Spielberg and de Palma tapped out a long time ago.

Polanski is alright but not on Marty's level today. Woody Allen is legitimately impressive but too inconsistent.
