I notice the light in Asia/Australia can sometimes be flat/grey. But that bottom image looks terrible.

I guess they were trying to imitate True Detective/Seven or something. It doesn't work properly if you don't plan for it.

Cheers mate. I tried to extrapolate as much of the subtle red hues on his skin but the original pic was fairly compressed. Those subtle splashes of colour on the skins of the cast are pretty commonplace throughout Refn's filmography.
