I liked the movie. The battle with the flash camera was pretty cool. The all the shots with Sam L Jackson and Kong and fire were all pretty.

I was dissapointed we never went underground though. They were talking about the earth being hollow, so I was expecting like a Journey to the Center of the Earth sort of thing, but we never went underground at all

My problem with Peter Jackson's version is that by the end it feels like the movie exists as a vehicle for the set pieces.

Every scene in a movie should contribute in some way to the narrative but a lot of Jackson's version is just flashy padding. It's still pretty decent but it's horribly paced.

Release a website as some sort of promo, with all the scientist's research explaining the geography, ecology, biology, and physiology of all these different creatures or something, just to toss a bone to the more pedantic members in the audience (though it should be carefully conducted by real life biologists and geologists and such to make sure most of the information is relatively believable).

I'm gonna stop my post here, because I've lost track of time, and I feel like I'm rambling, but you get my point. Directors and producers just need some standards and do their homework for once.
