REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WHY THE FUCK DO NORMIES HAVE TO LAUGH WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS THAT ISNT REMOTELY FUNNY
>>
They obviously think it's funny.
>>
I think a retarded guy was at my theater, when logan was having those PTSD nightmares he just goes 'grrr I'm wolverine hahahahaha' and nobody else laughed.

He kept laughing when people died in the movie as well.
>>
>>80315200
If you enjoyed this you're a normie too so it evens out.
>>
>>80315200
I chuckled when he first hit the pickup but stopped when I realize he was taking his sadness out in anger.
>>
>it has w-wate...

>>
>>80315200
The only time I chuckled during the film was when Laura was watching Logan tear up his truck.

It was pretty funny watching Huge Jackedman go ham on a vehicle.

Then I was dead inside because in the previous shot he'd buried the only man that ever really cared about him and whom he saw as a father figure, effectively leaving him truly alone for the first time in decades.
>>
>"daddy"

Yeah, but people were laughing at scenes that weren't intended to be funny.
Like the scene he was beating up the pickup truck.
It's supposed to be sad because he's upset and can't control his sadness so he takes it out on the truck in anger.
>>
There were only 2 people at the theater when I saw it so was pretty silent the whole thing.

Guess no one was able to go because of the no-singles policy.

You know you can laugh at someone being upset right? You can empathise with them, but seeing them destroy their car in such a manner should be expected to cause some laughs.

I mean you think people had no reason to laugh at this?>>80315666
It was clear a dark humourous moment.
>>
>>80315796
Tbh I let out a sad chuckle as well.
But that (and the attempted speech before) were imo the best scene of the film.
Really gets across how broken inside logan is.

>>
>>80315430
That scene was meant to be darkly comedic. You laugh because you've been there, at the back end of a really bad day and there's that final straw that sets you into a spiral.

But you also realize he's mourning the loss of one of his best friends, so it mixes that sadness in with the laughter, and you feel a little of his catharsis.
>>
>>80315729
Stephen Merchant really impressed me. It's a damn shame he has such a distinctive nerdy face because he seems like a pretty good dramatic actor.

There's actually quite a bit of humor in the movie.

>Logan's "motherfucker!" when the cholo's bullet dents his car.
>"Fuck off, Logan".
>"That was my favorite mug".
>>"The glasses make you look younger".
>Pierce getting knocked out by a pipe mid-sentence.
>Caliban flustered over how to dump the body.
>Logan and Laura fighting over her bag.
>"It's just the choo-choo / it's not the damn choo-choo!"
>Laura riding the toy horse.
>Laura attacking the clerk and Logan stealing his cigars.
>Xavier excitedly putting on that funky hat.
>Laura pushing all the buttons in the elevator.
>The small talk during the dinner ("It was a special needs school, he went there")
>Laura's ravenous eating.
>The kids giving Logan a shave.

Etc.
>>

People laugh for a massive variety of reasons. Nervousness, fear, awkwardness. Humor is just the most common and the most pleasurable so it's the most obvious. It's just a normal human reaction to find a shitty situation amusing, even if on another level you understand how horrible it is.

Loved the movie. Had some asshats chuckling when logan died because of the little girls snot running down her nose, but that's about it.

I didn't care for the clone being in the movie. But the part where Logan hugs Xavier and tells him it wasn't me was pretty touching too.

Xavier brings the bants too. Ties the personalities of the two trilogies together pretty well.

I admit I giggled a bit too, but half because other people were doing it
sorry for being an asshole who finds senile old fucks funny
>>
>>80326105
I couldn't laugh at that just because of how well Stewart sold his role as Xavier in the previous films. The idea of a man who wanted nothing but to help children being the cause of likely some of them dying is heartbreaking. Maybe not many kids in that casino, but what about the other incident they mention?

Wolverine can handle the knowledge he's hurt and killed people. Xavier couldn't, which is why they tried not to let him know.
>>
>>80326275
it's just the juxtaposition of the power of the seizure fucking up hundreds of people with this meek old man in a wheelchair quietly apologizing as he rolls by like he just spilled his drink at the family dinner table
it's sad when you actually think about it like logan smashing the truck but the way it's presented at first is worth a chuckle

>Charles is stabbed to death by the Logan clone
>laughter gets louder, some people start to jump around in their seats
>Logan digs Charles' grave and breaks down trying to give a eulogy
>people are crying laughing now, running around the room wildly with tears running down their faces, the stale smell of hot piss fills the air as many people pee themselves laughing so hard
>Logan destroys his car in a fit of emotional rage
>people are howling now, the fire alarm is going off but no one is paying attention, many people try to climb the theater screen to get as close as possible to the hilarious car scene that's taking place, the energy of the room starts to swell and it begins to fuck with the electricals as the lights flicker on and off
>Logan tragically gives his life to save Laura, she clutches his hand and cries "DADDY"
>every person in the theater suddenly stops what they are doing. They stare straight upwards, standing completely still, and they scream. There is no mirth in their faces, no joy in their vocalizations; just sustained, terrible shrieks that all join together to form a cacophony of pure fuck. No one is moving, no one is breathing, just standing still and screeching in perfect terrible unison. Hugh Jackman climbs out of the theater screen like the Ring and begins reciting some kind of religious ritual in a dead language. As he finishes, everyone in the theater explodes in a mass of blood and excrement, except for a pregnant woman up front. As she continues screaming covered in the blood and gore of all the eviscerated bodies, Abaddon, the son of Satan, slices his way out of her stomach. Hugh Jackman takes the hellspawn child, gives the woman a refund for the movie ticket, then leaves the theater

>>

>>
The scene where Logan smashed the car was intentionally made comedic. I read the complaints about people laughing during that scene before I even saw the movie. Then I saw the movie, and people laughed at that scene. I didn't, but others did. I can understand why they laughed, because the way the scene was supposed to be darkly humorous.

>Logan rips his hand away from Laura
>see him walk towards the truck from Laura's point of view
>from Laura's POV, Logan gets in, tries to start the truck, its engine fails, and he starts cursing
>Laura then turns around and sees some guy fishing
>cut back to Logan, again, from Laura's POV, grabbing the shovel and smashing the truck
>there's no music, the scene is shot from a distance, Laura is completely stonefaced the entire time

The scene looks like somebody took a video of some guy going berserk for no reason. Mangold chose to film it that way. If the shot stayed with Logan as he had his breakdown, people would not have laughed.
>>
>>80317185
This, I was worried he'd do his usual Whedon style quirky nerdy thing and dying everything but he was alright
>>
>>80315200
i was dying laughing at most of this film

if it's intention was to be gritty and emotional, it had utterly failed
>>
>>80332586
I think you're right. It was also about showing how the only difference between tragedy and comedy is often perspective. That may well have been the worst moment of Logan's life so far, but to his daughter it's a slightly bemusing moment where this guy seems to be smashing a vehicle to pieces for no apparent reason.
>>
>>80318288
You forgot:

>Charles asking Laura if she was all right after she just slaughtered a dozen people
>>
>>80315200
I'm proud of my theater, the only chuckle that came from that part was the obvious attempt at juxtaposing the absurdity of the happy fisherman and his dog with Logan smashing the toolbox in the back with the shovel. I think that part was intentionally trying to be at least odd, if not a little humourous. Showing how despite the fact someone's world has just fallen apart, other people are gonna go about their shit. It was only a very brief little chuckle too. Good job Tennessee.

This was a good movie ruined by the stupid fucking audience
>>
Italian here, I was afraid there would be improper laughs but nobody laughed during the emotional moments, both light and heavy.
>>
I hate movies like these because I know I will have questions that won't be answered and aren't supposed to be asked.

Like where did all of Xavier's money go that they couldn't afford a better hide out.

You can spend hundreds of millions on the blackbird and shit but you can't have some saved to buy a boat
>>
>>80329164
mine too
basically every time he was on screen
>>

>Now Xavier had muties in every corner, whenever we came close, he would read their minds and slip away. He was always one step ahead. However, what he didn't know was that things were gonna get a whole lot worse for him
>>
>>80334384
He was the worlds most wanted mutant they said he was classed as a WMD. The entire world was probably after him
>>
>>80333669

i used to live in italy for a while and went to the cinema a few times, they're as normal as the rest of the world. it is only americlaps who are retards.

saying that though italians genuinely believe their shitty dubs are better than the original.
>>
>>80334384

They never really said Xavier was rich or address where X-Men got its funding did they? You don't need to address this fucking shit, it isn't important to the plot.
>>
>>80324650
Kek i did laugh at this.
>>
>>80329200
Not him but there was a "such a nerd!"-tier faggot sitting near me who laughed when that happened and throughout the movie. I swear I heard him mutter out "epic" at one point.
>>
>>80330272
Same except I didn't make out her line. Was this in the cabin at the end? She dropped some crazy burn and walks off and everyone says "ooooh" and I have no clue what happened. Fucking mumbling Americans
>>
My gf does this through every movie we watch together. She's a pleb but dat ass
>>
>>80315796
What the fuck I thought that I was just with a particularly dumb audience, guess I just had more faith in people. I think from now on if I go to see an emotional film I'm going to the latest screenings possible to minimise normies.
>>
>>80318288
Yeah this is true. The problem was that the audience I was with didn't laugh at this, instead they laughed at moments that were supposed to be sad. I came out of it with a feeling that the general public just doesn't really grasp humour.

I'm relieved that Logan got an R rating, PG-13 would've been a nightmare with all the 10-year-old shits in the cinema talking and using their phones.
>>
>>80315658
One of the biggest pleb filters in recent cinema
>>
Everyone was sniffling in my theatre

the ones who were laughing the loudest ended up crying too
>>
>>80319427
I cheered when the millennials turned on Pewdiepie
>>
Maybe the audience is laughing to cope with their grief just like Wolverine was doing by destroying the car.
>>
>>80334384
More important... What was Xavier's tax policy?

>Be paki
>Go to see movie during PSL final in country(some national cricket game)
>Only most serious fans in theater
>Not a single normie or girl
>Not a single kid
>Not a single laughter during movie
>No one made a single sound during the movie
>No clapping at the end
>Just silently watching and keeping emotions to themselves
>>
>>80315200
Don't you like the villain monologue being interrupted for the seventh movie in a row?
>>
>>80336459

I heard at least one kid in the audience, but otherwise it was fine. When I went to see First Class kids behind me kept talking, kicking my seat and went "eeeeeewwwww" whenever Emma Frost showed up in lingerie or when characters kissed. It was a Friday night, but that was a midnight show.

R Rating Retard filters don't always work.

When I went to see the Fincher Dragon Tattoo, some asshole brought his 3-5 year old daughter along. It was a matinee on a schoolday!

She kept making noise and running through the aisles. But I couldn't make out her wors except "Daddy, what's he doing?" as Rooney Mara was being brutally beaten and raped.

The most obnoxious disruptive audience members I had to be were a group of middle aged balding men who kept talking loudly, walking around, texting and answered calls from their cell phones.

Being honest that scene was supose to be a bit comical at first but then realize it's taking too long

>walking around during a movie
This is something I will never understand. It's fine to go to the bathroom if you really need to, but Jesus Christ.

I want rewatch all "good" wolverine movies.
x-men 1, x-men 2, days of future past, would i be lost? what i should add?
>>
>>80338371

First Class was good, The Wolverine is okay.

Apocalypse is an enjoyable mess, X3 is terrible, and Origins is worse than colon cancer. But with friends and with some liquor or weed they can be so bad they're good.
>>
>>80315200
I laughed when he stole the phone charger. Had to look around and make sure no one heard and thought I was some kinda lame normo, even though I too paid to see the movie.
>>
>>80338498
I heard that First Class was cool, but i want to stick with Hugh Jackman

you only really need to skip origins. x3 and apocalypse are pretty bad but they won't give you aids

Late 40s and boomers are the US's premiere opiate market

What does him being late 40s have to do with him not being on drugs?
>>
>>80338551
He has a memorable cameo, the movie is great and sets up DOFP.
>>
>>80315430
its clearly shot for comedy. he starts hitting the truck with a shovel.
its funny because its such a wolverine way of venting emotions.
>>

>watching at amc Dolby version in town square vegas
>around 20 people me and my brother included
>only things people laughed at was Charles advertising for taco bell and Laura speaking Spanish all of a sudden
>some teared at the emotional scenes and everyone was relatively quiet
Pay more and get a better audience im assuming

I went on a Monday morning. 6 people in total and it was pure silence.

Those people may as well have been my best friends.

>But then there's that ONE guy
>Who of course sits next to me
>Laughs at everything
>Shouts WHOA! or OH! every single time Logan kills someone
>He yelled YEAH THAT'S WHY! A-HA-HA-HA-HA! when the loli spoke first time
>Credits roll, he leans to his (clearly embarrassed) friend, says WHAT A STUPID BULLSHIT MOVIE
>>
>>80324650
I did too.
>>
There was one dude that was screaming with laughter when Laura came out carrying the guy's head. The rest of the theater was completely silent, I dunno what his problem was.
>>
I went on a wednesday afternoon release day, excluding my group there were 4 other people there
one person in my group fell asleep between the garage and the black family
bascailly everyone else seemed to think that the car was the funniest shit ever
some other autist kept audibly sighing out loud every other scene
I'm glad I didn't enjoy the film otherwise it would've been another experience ruined because I'm too awkward to see films alone

ngl tho I had to hold back laughter as she turned the cross into the X and when all the kids were stood on top of the guy and then there's that one guy just breathing cold that's clearly not reaching him
