Agree for som degree on a least parts, I was quite let down by the other monsters.Expected more, the giant spider scene just came and went,same with the sudden Kong vs giant octupus scene, not that memorable.

Got back from seeing it, it's just a really fun movie that gets too close to being schlock, really dumb but in a fun way
I also really liked this version of Kong, the characters are not particularly good and they are pretty much invisible and Kong has a lot of screen time unlike some people said here, he appears a lot and it's well distributed during the movie, which by the way goes pretty fast

Also, the post credit scene was cool, I was the only one left at the cinema and I thought the maintenance guy was going to kick me out

I loved it. Fantastic cinematography and wonderful over-the-top action. John C Reilly stole the film. See it in IMAX.

I remember reading that the director was inspired by Evangelion for some creature designs. For example, the skull monster's heads resemble the angel in pic, and I could see the giant spider resembling that one spider Angel

I agree with James Rolfe - Kong is a good movie. Not as good as 2005 remake, but IMHO better than Godzilla 2014.
