I've read all the books to date (they're mostly awful), this adaption of Bobbie is terrible. Bobbie had total respect for the chain of command and a deep love of Mars, this Bobbie is a bloodthristy bitch. Best adaption by far was Miller, who is better in the tv show than the books.

What I like about this show, is it depicts a future which roots we are observing in formation.

Elon Musk talking about going on Mars by 2030! And judging from his accomplishments I believe him. I am so really proud to witness these things.

I think what is happening now is our concepts are evolving, concepts of everything we know, and new concepts are being developed, new ideas, new views on things.

Have you read Gods of Risk? It's a novella that takes place on Mars after the events of Caliban's War and it gives a great insight into Martian society and such. They're not the hyper-efficient ultra-disciplined society you think they are. That image of Mars is just military propaganda. They're a lot more badass in the books desu. The scene where the blow the armor looked horrible. Like a bunch of plastic plates getting pulled by wires, because that's exactly what it was.

In the books the suit is substantial, it takes up a huge wardrobe crate. It's doesn't add a ton of dimension to the wearer, but it has mass and it does cover 100% of the body. It's vacuum-rated, it has to form a seal.

The power armor is a pretty important prop, it's too bad they fucking blew the budget on interior CGI scenes.

This is still my biggest gripe about the Muhreens, the armor is supposed to make them yuge, to the point where their proportions look bizzare with the helmet removed, or them being unable to sit in normal people crash couches because of the suit's size, hands are described as being too large to fit properly around normal guns and how normal rifles look like toys that an armored fighter can wield in one hand, and how a team of people still have difficulty moving the armor around a ship because it weighs several hundred kilos even at 1/3rd G.

The books are better in my opinion simply because they move at the pace the authors intend as opposed to having to be manipulated for TV, Bobbie and Avasarala are better in the books simply because you actually get to see things from their perspective.
