Is it going to be successful?

Probably not, Disney's been doing "just okay" with their live action shit. Not only is this one of the harder ones to adapt (the original genie is a tough act to follow) but people will be sick of them by that point.

So basically Mulan would have been the superior choice?

Reminder that Jasmine is only 15. Should make some interesting casting.

I don't see why not, the original one is universally loved so this should get plenty of people to watch. Kids will flock to the theaters like crazy
In terms of what, profit? Of course, modern audiences need everything to be new and remade, because a film's quality means nothing if it was made more than a decade ago. Despite Aladdin still looking gorgeous, it's a cartoon and it's too old.
In terms of quality, no. These Disney remakes are just quick cash grabs and hold nothing to the original stories. It's a lot easier to get some actors together and throw in some shitty CGI than coming up with original ideas, when name recognition works so well.

>the original genie is a tough act to follow
More like the genie just doesn't translate to live action at all.

>casting nonwhite people in the roles
Not /pol/ but it's going to flop harder than Moana.

Moana was successful tho
They're gonna cover up Jasmine I promise you

Dev Patel (Indian) vs the PAKI from Rogue Squadron for Aladdin

>>80263400
>I can show you the wooooorld...except United States of America because Muslim ban LOL
I just want to see jafar

Name a better Disney song than A Whole New World. You can't.

Nobody wants to see sandniggers on the big screen.
At best the movie will be whitewashed and everybody is outraged before release and after release nobody cares.
It's a real shame as it's my favorite disney movie
