Can someone give me a quick rundown on this guy?

8/10
Tied with Dredd as the best comic book movie. A little too slow and heavy to be rewatcheable enough to place higher than an 8.
Genuinely emotive, solid, visceral action movie. A character piece made to finally the make the most of perfect and wasted casting.

A lumberjack from the 1800s. Has bone claws and heals back to a 30 year old super fast.
Fights in all your favorite wars, Gets a metal skeleton, metal claws and brainwashed to kill for the big bad government.
Goes rogue. Is emo (grizzled) for 50-60 years. Dies.
Trading superhero cliches for ”respectable” ”genre” cliches (and ”respectable” theatrical execution in what concerns the dialogue and the acting) is not quite my idea of progression. Though I must admit it raises a very interesting question, while it slowly moves, or tends to move to an affirmative answer: is the superhero movie a ”genre”? / can the superhero movie be treated in a ”genre” manner?

>has adamantium bones, and has claws and healing powers that allow him to live longer
>has lived for two centuries
>is an angry loner who was accepted by Xavier who became his friend
>he got a new group of friends who have powers like Logan
>over time he watched his closest friends die
>becomes an angry loner again
>went back in time to save his friends
>gets angry because all his friends die again anyway
>sick of life, tired, wants to die, he protects his best friend Xavier who has dementia now
There, now you can watch Logan.
