This episode made the uneven quality of the previous episodes worth it. Some of the lulls with stretched out bits can be annoying, which I guess boils down to pacing versus tone, but the story elements have been continuously paying off while leading to something else interesting. Hopefully they keep it up and don't fuck up with the next episode being filler before another reveal unless they get out fast.

For example, without Summerland, David's sister would have never been captured and without her capture he wouldn't have been convinced by the DYE to unleash his powers letting it take over his body/psyche. This is a clear chain of events. This is without a doubt something that happens in the show.
