First encounter with the Alien, Ripley can only run in order to survive, she's young and weak.
Ripley comes back, confronts her fear in order to destroy the Alien, she matured a lot, she takes everything under control and fights.
Ripley is old and realise the true enemy is the Company, she doesn't fear the alien anymore, there is no fear in hear, she commit suicide for the greater good.

The Divines, a superior brand ancestors to the Engineers (they are a bit taller and dark grey) live in a very religious social system.

A sect of these divines are the engineers we know which (as Prometheus 1 implied) for all intents and purposes Christians in everything but name. But they are infidels to the Divines who worship a Horus like god.

The divines created the humans and began to influence them but 2000 years ago, in fear of genocide, the sectarian engineers sent their messiah to Earth, who was killed by humankind. Thats why they were pissed with humankind. Also, the divines who evolved further, persecuted the engineers and killed them all. They also hate humans who they believe, were corrupted by the fake messiah.

The trailer makes it seem that its just action but its a perfect mix of Prometheus and Alien.

Either Walter is screwed over by David and is impregnated by a genetically modified facehugger created by David... or David births it himself. The androids are the key to the biomechanoid aliens we know and love.

Here's my take.
David and Shaw arrive at the planet, she wanted to know why they were to be wiped as I recall from Prometheus. Instead, she finds the place ruined, extinct and devoid of anything other than their ruins. Shaw needs to eat and protection. David and Shaw break the taboo and use the goo for their use, creating several forms of aliens to protect the ship and even plant wheat. To avoid being attacked, she boobytraps her crops with spores in case something might steal or eat them. One of the guys steps on one, shit happens. They start probing her ship, triggers the xenomorphs that guard the ship. When it ends, Either shaw or david has to come down to understand what's the ruckus all about.

Originally Nids were a collection of races all mindcontrolled by one entity. They changed this by making them a single unified race.

My point was in 1988, they had them designed like that, which was completely different to the Nids you linked. So they changed the Nids you linked in design to fit their original design, which existed BEFORE Starcraft.

The Nids were designed like that before StarCraft existed and GW changed the design of Carnifexes et al to have a 'design link' to the original 1988 models.

Alright, here's my BASIC GESTALT on what I think is happening with these prequels.

The Engineers, as a race, believe it is their spiritual duty to nurture (and occasionally, cull), life throughout the galaxy. They have essentially mastered biological manipulation and genetic engineering, with their primary tool being the black goo, a programmable, nanomachine-based multi-purpose tool for modifying organisms. Note that this substance is not perfect; Biological manipulation, especially when converting one creature into an entirely different one, is likely a very messy process.

The Engineers seed life on a variety of worlds by ceremonially ingesting a version of the substance programmed to break the user down into the base components of multicellular life, as seen in the intro to Prometheus. We see an elder, robed Engineer hand the capsule containing the 'life-creating' substance to the stripped Engineer, who willingly drinks it, sacrificing to seed life on that planet. The Engineer's DNA then becomes present in all of the life that later evolves on this world, thus explaining why human and engineer DNA is 'nearly identical'.

As indicated through the cave-paintings pointing towards LV-223, the Engineers will revisit these worlds that they have seeded and monitor their progress, occasionally helping them along, either using further genetic modification via other strains of black goo or by interfering directly with their historical development, even leaving clues as to their location so that Humankind will, eventually, realize that their history has been influenced and how to make contact with their creators once they reach the interstellar phase.

We know that Engineers directly interfered with humankind, even in recent history. The Engineers' writing system is strikingly similar to Mesopotamian cuneiforms, and in his conversation with David, the Engineer speaks a form of a proto-indo-european language, meaning that early human language development was likely a result of Engineer's influencing humanity. However, after Jesus's crucifixion, they abandoned hope for their particular experiment with humanity and sent orders to their nearest military outpost to destroy the species.
(We know this from an interview with Ridley Scott, and also since we know the Engineers on LV-223 planned to leave 2000 years before Prometheus takes place.)

We must presume that the Engineers are a highly decentralized Empire. Given their FTL capability, eternal life, and advanced bioengineering technology, we can assume they have numerous experiments similiar to humanity going on across the galaxy, and that each are conducted with some degree of independence from the rest of the society. So after the team of Engineer's that checked up on Earth during Jesus's Crucifixion left, they dispatched the order to the military outpost and assumed it would be taken care of.

On to the 'black goo' as we see it on LV-223, and LV-223 in general. LV-223 was explicitly a military research outpost for the development and deployment of weaponized versions of the black goo. It is barren, isolated, and relatively lifeless, all to ensure that the leak of the goo woulnd't result in the development of any particulary dangerous forms of life. We know there were multiple Engineer ships of the same model, both evidently meant to deliver bioweapons.

The 'weaponized' black goo on the planet was intended specifically for humanity. The 'culling' part of the Engineer's spirituality was equally ritualized. It was stored in a room marked by a giant bust of a human, a monument to the failure of their creations and a marker to designate the target of this strain of goo. The xenomorph mural on the wall depicted the idealized final form of the goo once it has completed its task. As I said, intense mutation is not perfect, however. In all likelyhood, whatever was created would be a compromise between human biology and the 'perfect organism' of the xenomorph. But, what was important was that anything that was exposed to the black goo would become hostile, aggresive, and hard to kill. Releasing such a substance on a world would devastate it rapidly, especially since creatures mutated by it seem to evolve a hostile, extremely deadly form of reproduction.

However, as we see in the security holograms, the black goo broke out and affected the Engineers on the research base, resulting in the death of all but one, a pilot who sealed himself inside of a stasis chamber. His conversation, translated from the ancient language David was using, follows someone as such.

The engineer reacts with rage, ripping off David's head and assaulting the humans, before resuming its plans to devistate earth. It is possible the Engineer acted this way for multiple reasons. It could be purely out of realization that his two milleniums old target for destruction still lives, and has, in fact developed to the point wher it can create AI and travel through space easily. Or, more likely, Engineers view their society as the only one with the right and duty to create life. You can see the Engineer stroke David's head, almost in sympathy, before ripping him apart. It is clear that he pities David himself, but cannot allow such creations to continue.

IDK guys. I'm fucked up on Xanax and Booze right now. But I really liked this movie. I liked that I could sit down and think about it and come up with my own interpretation of the story. Which is something missing from a lot of sci-fi these days. I think this is why Roger Ebert gave it 4/4.

I really liked that Aliens: Alien comic. The one about an alien tribe on some desert planet with a xenomorph hunting members of the village. The xenomorph originated from a crashed human spaceship.

The story was basically about two young members of this alien tribe wanting to prove themselves by killing the xeno. The xenomorph works the same as it always has.

The element introduced by these prequels is the EVOLUTIONARY ACCELERANT, aka the "black goo" from Prometheus.

The accelerant breaks down source DNA and mutates it quickly to create an ecology based around a target creature blueprint. In the beginning of Prometheus, we see an Engineer use it to seed a planet with rapidly-mutating DNA. Accellerant was used to make Humans. The main body of the Prometheus film features accelerant designed to create the Giger Xenomorph from ALIEN.

The Deacon and the Neomorphs are not part of the Giger Xeno lifecycle. They're different species entirely, related to the Xeno in the same way that Chimpanzees are related to Humans.

So, David doesn't "make" the Xeno in the sense that he designs it and creates it himself. He has the accelerant, and he wants to see the perfect organism that the Engineers were trying to create with it. And so he tries to cultivate it out of the chaos of his annihilation of the Engineers.
