The entire story arc of the governor coming back and still being a fucking retard who somehow convinces a group of normal civilians to risk their lives hunting people they've never even met, is seriously stupid.

1. they weren't "normal civilians", they were desperate survivors like everyone else, and needed shelter
2. the governor had been with them for a while, probably months, and was always very good at convincing others with his charming politican talk
3. the governor's failed redemption arc was one of the best storylines in the show. it added way more depth to the character and gave more dramatic weight to the final standoff at the prison.
