The critics were willing to give Luke Cage and Jessica Jones a chance because they featured a strong Adonis of a Nubian and a strong, independent woman that fucks said Nubian.

As they watched these shows, giving them a chance, they noticed Kilgrave and Cottonmouth and the series went from "progressive good" to "legitimately good."
