Also the antagonist knew where they were for like 3 days, yet couldn't actually besige/raid them? Why catch the kids rather than kill them given that trying to avoid being killed was the reason they escaped, especially x23 as she is nearly impossible for non muties to capture as pointing a gun doesn't work the only reason I can think of: is they wanted a R rather than a NC-17. Leaving aside that those two comments are at odds with one another, I didn't think the moral message was heavily broadcast. Hell, the movie hardly had a moral at all. It was mostly just a story of personal struggle.

The implication was that US government at least tacitly approved of what the company was doing. If they tried plowing into Canada at some point they would have run up against the Canadian government, presumably causing an unacceptable international incident.

Eden was the failed dream, Canada was presented as the pragmatic response. If they wanted a new hypothetical x-men without the sins and failures of Logan and the gang, Eden an unknown point of future Mutant civilization would make the most sense as it gets around the corn and the fact that Canada is for all purposes a puppet for the multinationals just like Mexico in a logical dystopic future setting. Unless they can establish otherwise. Eden also could form the bittersweet ending as the likelyhood of the children success seems grim but safe from the current danger.
