because she's a woman, her shows are able to sneak in a lot of rough jokes. I was surprised how many racist jokes were in 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt.

if you've never watched her shows because a woman's show can't possibly be funny, give them a chance.

but don't start at season 1 of 30 Rock. that show took a long time to figure out what it was doing. start at the beginning of season 6, watch to the end of season 7, then watch Kimmy Schmidt, then ratchet backward through seasons 5-2 of 30 Rock. watch season 1 if you're curious, but Jason Sudeikis' character REALLY REALLY sucks and the entire season has almost nothing funny.

Don't skip S1. It might have the awkwardness of a show trying to find its place but it basically still has the same writing/jokes. Some of the most classic shows/episdoes are in S1. It would be a waste to miss on the way the characters were introduced in S1.
