What was the point of dramatically killing jimmy and trying to protect the african warlord?
If they were there for lois to knowingly endanger her for Superman to come so they could blame superman for the killings of the african?

Because the african thought they were on his side so they had to react accordingly.

I remember reading somewhere that Zack Snyder shoved Jimmy Olsen into the film to try to trick audiences into thinking he would be the main protagonist. Jimmy's death was supposed to be a shock like Janet Leigh's death in Psycho. The problem is EVERYONE knew Jimmy wouldn't be the main character since the actor who played him is a literally who and it's fucking obvious that a movie called BATMAN V SUPERMAN is gonna mainly focus on BATMAN and SUPERMAN. I can't believe so many people think this drooling retard is a genius.

Jessie Eisenberg was suppose to play him and die early but refused and then snyder was so in love with his personality he made him lex.

That was back when Jesse Eisenberg was still supposed to play Jimmy. Plans changed when he nailed his Lex Luthor audition.

Once Eisenberg rejected the role Snyder should've dropped the "let's try to trick people into thinking Jimmy is the main protagonist" shit. Only a huge star could've made that cheap trick work. But Snyder was too retarded to realize this.
Lexcorp was secretly funding the rebel african warlord in that country's civil war, which included protecting the guy with his mercenaries, for the US, who expressed neutrality over the conflict, and then he used that setup to fuck with Superman when he learned Lois would cover the conflict.
Why he did that?
Nu 1, he knew that the CIA would try to use that as an excuse to investigate his shit. His mercenaries knew that the photarapher, Jimmy Olsen, was a CIA agent in disguise.
Nu 2, he was hoping his theory about Superman being Clark Kent, Lois' boyfriend, was right. So with her with danger there was a good chance Superman would show up to save her cute ass. He was right, of course.
Once everything worked he used the chance to stage the massacre and blame Superman for everything.
And yes, Lexcorp was indeed helping the rebels for the US in a country's civil war where the US told the world they were not involved. That's why the US Secretary of Defense, that black guy from MoS Lois went to talk with, told her to drop her investigations about the bullet she recoved from the place, shot by Lex's mercenaries, because she was in danger and could never prove a thing about it.

The whole thing being a thinly veiled commentary on US role in the Syrian conflict.

Snyder made an attempt at pulling a "bane/CIA" but the stars and meme magic didn't align in the special way that it did for Nolan.
probably because Jimmy didn't have the high ground taken away from him like CIA did (literally and figuratively)

Did you not watch in theaters? They never said Olsens name. It was literally an anonymous cia dude.
>>80180213
Did you not watch the extended director's cut? They said Olsen's name.
Why did he stay in the building? Was it autism? Like did he seriously need Bruce's permission to leave?
>>80180265
Bruce needed it to be personal
>>80180250
Did you not notice the months between the theatrical and bluray release? It wasn't exactly earth-shattering news by then.

Same thing happened in 9/11 desu. Those in the first tower were told to calmly exit in an orderly fashion. Those in the second were told to sit tight. Most of them did.

The point is the only reason Olsen is in the movie is Snyder wanted to shock audiences. He was too retarded to figure out no one would be shocked. The only reason Olsen isn't named in the theatrical cut is the studio forced Snyder to shorten the movie because they were afraid the director's cut 3 hour runtime would hurt box office sales.
