Haven't seen the series but unless you're splitting hairs it's a hardly a time travel story. Sure there's time travel involved but the actual meat of it doesn't really have much to do with the time travel, it's mostly a GOOD OL' AMERICAN 50s/60s wank-off.
Not that it wasn't an enjoyable read, just not much for time travel.
