Simple solution to college/university crises in the US and UK

>cut fake courses and soft subjects
>raise entry criteria
>less students, less expensive to run courses
>get people working earlier in their lives
>people save and spend money
>boost economy and buy houses

Simple. There's no need to do sociology or english literature at a degree level

"Sociologists", for example, should read and/or research as a hobby while doing an apprenticeship in social care or the courts

Here in the UK it's basically expected that you go to university, which is bullshit. University should be for a few people who want to go into specialised careers, not dossing around for three years and wasting money

Most of them are like that at mine except for this one Irish guy who is some kind of Ubermensch. Put in like a thousand hours into extra curriculars all whilst doing a paediatric nursing degree and excelling at it, absolutely loved by the faculty aswell.

Wish I could be bitter against him but he's a genuinely nice guy, has time for anybody despite being ridiculously busy. He also gave his dad a kidney.
