i just started ds9 and i like it

it hasn't reached the heights of tng and doesnt capture the same feel as other trek but it functions pretty well as its own thing

Early DS9 is more watchable than early TNG. The occasional gem, like Duet, helps too.

Once you get into the larger story arc you'll be hooked.
