Besides if the internet was as prominent in the early to mid 90's the way it is today, I'm more than sure that The Simpsons would have gotten an equal amount of hate that Rick and Morty gets here on /tv/. Just on how popular The Simpsons was at that time. There would be daily threads calling it "The Memesons" and shit like that.
