This isn't nitpicking. The movie was literally about presenting her as this evil mastermind that could play every person to her advantage. But when her plan is so full of holes that I can make a list of stuff that didn't make sense in 2 minutes and everyone still plays along like they are fucking retards it shatters suspension of disbelief and makes the ending feel forced and unsatisfying.

The reason I loved this movie so much was because, to my mind, it was Fincher doing a rom-com. It even has the standard three section guy-gets-girl, guy-loses-girl, guy-does-drastic-gesture-to-get-girl-back format.
