The biggest problem to me is the fact they made it into a family thrill ride instead of going for the type of atmsophere the first three movies had. There was only one decent death scene in the film (the security guard when the big bad dino breaks out). That scene actually felt like it belonged in a JP film. Other than that scene, there was no tension to be found anywhere.

Honestly, I'd call the 2nd JP movie is better than World simply because it had the second most tension filled scene in the whole franchise (the T-Rex attack on the trailer) and the most heartbreaking/fucked up death scene (the bald guy getting split by two T-Rexes).

They knew about the feathers back during the first jurassic movie too, in fact I remember my uncle saying something to me about it in 94' it just wasn't as widely known then.

The only difference is how much has changed in terms of how they view certain species and how they changed over time, and computer technology being able to pull old imprints of feathers from the shit they died in like clay/stone imprints.

My biggest issue with JP3 is that it lacks a climax. The river scene from the original book being included was nice, stupid kids aside, but the movie doesn't end there. Jurassic World is just not a good or very deep movie franchise. It is just a modern day monster movie like a retelling of Godzilla.

We all know what is going to happen. They are going to have a scene where they show the splendor of the island. There will be a scene where two execs argue about profit vs art. There will be a scene showing extensive security systems, followed by a scene where they are defeated by the monster/dinosaur. There's a scene where people are running and the mosters are chasing them and reaking havoc for a while. They always have a scene where they decide not to just bomb the island with a fuckton of napalm or whatever. Then our plucky hero saves the day and the mosters are caught again. They say, sometimes you shouldn't mess with nature, fade to black roll credits.

There I just described all 4 JP movies and the original book source material.

That being said a by the books monster movie still beats Star Wars shit anyday.
