Is that film worth a watch?

Time to drop some Master and Commander OC
>>80125689
But anon this is not the videogame board oh oh oh.
>>80128716
it's basically a romance movie in space. Very little story. it's ok if you don't take it seriously and just laugh at the mistakes like a comedy.

A little slow isn't bad, that when you can pay attention to the date.

>Not sure she crazy, liberal sadly
I kinda doubt it. She seems like the exact kind of person who parrots ideology as a way of gaining social capital. I doubt she has any concrete principles at all.

Just serves to remind me that Sunshine is a million times better in every conceivable way, even with that bed shitting third act.

>>80130117
I will never get over how great sunshine was for 2/3rds of the films and then straight out of left field awful.
>>80123997
do liberals actually show this much emotion while watching a tv-show?
>>80130117
>Just serves to remind me that Sunshine is a million times better in every conceivable way, even with that bed shitting third act.
I think I get angry at that film as it such a good film till the third act, when it goes from a 9/10 could be a classic film to trash in about 10 minutes.
>>80130244
>>80130252
I'm not sure the third act is totally irredeemable shit, but it turns the entire tone of the movie on its head and drops from a solid 9 or 9.5 to like a 6.
>>80130322
>I'm not sure the third act is totally irredeemable shit, but it turns the entire tone of the movie on its head and drops from a solid 9 or 9.5 to like a 6.
Well I find it to be totally shit, but others can have other opinions.
If it was instead a cascade of failures slowly killing off the crew and making it a suicide mission, it would have been 1000X better.
>>80130250
what do you think?
By far my fave part of this great movie is Blakeney, the one armed 14 year old midshipman, leading the defense of the ship and boarding and kicking ass.

When he does that handstand for no reason and flails his legs around to defend against the Jedi it looks fucking retarded. Should have just had him stand on one leg and use three lightsabers while perfectly balancing or something.
>>80131831
well, I thought because of surface tension, but I suppose it shouldnt have worked with that amount of water.
>>80131869
surface tensions has the strength the hold up a small drop for a under few seconds
>>80131966
Pretty much, although on many ISS footage they create pretty big bubbles

kek, that was over quickly.
it'll actually be incredibly easy to swim out of the bubble due to buoyancy which will be in effect irregardless of gravity. I just don't see how bubbles like that could form in the first place. But whatever it's not sci-fi it's sci-romance

Cool, is the "The Strain" on Netflix or Amazon Prime?
>>80134461
Not sure, you're better off torrenting it, also be forewarned, the Strain is shlocky shlock but entertaining, don't expect anything too deep though it does manage to hit emotional high notes ever so often
>>80131774
>I didnt understand why she couldnt swim in the bubble
my understanding is that as there's no gravity to hold the mass of water together, there's nothing to swim 'against' for propulsion. so without resistance you're just moving water around instead of propelling yourself
>>80134554
FUCK YOU WHAT THE HELL IS THAT
>>80134529
Might need something like that after watching Fortitude and Luther.

Master and Commander.
if you haven't seen it go out and see it, it a modern (last 20 years) classic. the only reason why it didn't earn Best Picture was that it came out the same year that Return of the King did.
>>80136546
Need to figure out how to add fake subtitles and add subs to it for added effect.

it was a different time. also women will never understand that movie

they made the ewoks a lot scarier in the new star wars
>>80137398
Thanks for that anon, figured out what it is.
>>80136954
Yep,
From 1987-2005 there was only two "poltical" movies that won, and even then, they where good movies who were only slightly poltical.
(And two movies that didn't deserve to win)
From 2005-2016 we had 4-5 win based on politics (depending on your views of spotlight) plus a lot more just crappy choices.
Before 2005 the academy knew they had to get movies that were crowd pleasing into the nomination cycle.
