Yea but we don't know if Disney wants Daft Punk back, or if they'll even want to come back, that's the thing I'm worried about. Would appreciate a direct sequel yea, but even if it isn't, Daft Punk can make it worthwhile.

Genuinely underrated movie. The plot is muddled, the tone is edgy compared to the original, the acting is stiff. But, great sfx and art designs, great use of 3D, and Daft Punk definitely made up for it. I wish for a proper sequel even without Jeff Bridges.
