The worst parts of this movie were the parts where it shifts focus from cruise- otherwise I fucking loved this.

Can you imagine the horror of squaring off against an army of cruises?
>>
>>80106555
>>80106609
I'm speaking of Magnetic Rose specifically, not Memories as a whole.
And I haven't seen anybody mention it outside of 4chan.
Your average person on the street never heard of this shit.
>>
>>80106633
Truly underrated.

>>80106579
Bowie Jr and Villeneuve are the sci-fi saviors.
>>
>>80106725
The second short it's also pretty good sci-fi.
>>
>>80106725
magnetic rose is the most popular one by far anyway. stink bomb and cannon fodder are more underrated in that regard.
>its a "normie pretends like he's a contrarian" episode

>>80106836
It's relatively popular, it's not Star Wars.
And Stink Bomb is underrated because it's shit.

just went through my entire snatch history for sci-fi i've watched

i watch...

i watch so many fucking bad movies. so many bad horror movies especially. god dammit.

anyway this one is alright. low budget and you can see the twist from ten trillion light years away but it's like a counterfeit ex machina that doesn't really challenge the viewer at all

Pretty enjoyable. The acting isn't too bad. Would probably perform better as a short, but I don't remember feeling beleaguered while watching it.

I really enjoy single room movies as a concept, though. I felt they managed, but it is definitely not as good as 12 angry men with showing 'new' parts of the room, or using sparse shots to change the tone or make the environment stay fresh and integral. IIRC they occasionally throw in people they hadn't shown previously which kinda fucked me up and annoyed me.

Def worth a watch.

there are several studio 4°c compilations that have some great shorts in them as well but no one has ever watched them because none topped magnetic rose

Script is a bit amateurish and the twist (why does every fucking time movie have to have a fucking twist?) while not "obvious" is pretty...
It's lackluster. Then again I enjoyed the movie around it, which felt like the point. If you are autistic then you really shouldn't be watching time sci-fi anyway but I don't remember any particularly 'glaring' flaws.

spoilers:
can you imagine getting cucked so hard you break the time-space continuity?

Suuuuuper fun. Probably compare it to Chronicle in theme but with the bones of a horror movie (and not shot found footage style). End is dope and I fucking love Lawrence Fishburne. I remember the acting- especially in the first act- being surprisingly good.

Post-apocalypse sci-fi kino. No zombies here. Basically everything is too fucking hot. Naturally, the movie makes you feel like its fucking sweltering. Best watch this while its cold out.

Really cute german-english pun based title too.

>>80107888
Honestly I think when I watched it for the first time I figured it was gonna be dumb arnie fun but then it uses these gorgeous shots- I remember really loving the super wide angle on that initial fight scene where they try to abduct him the first time. I had to go and look up interviews on the animatronics too, because the decompression scene was so fucking wild and unsettling.
>>
>>80107716
No. Good until they found out they had superhero powers. And the twist was cliche and also retarded. "Wow, DAMON is actually NOMAD flipped!"
>>
>>80107612

I don't recall any major flaws either
I just remember being frustrated at how retarded everyone ended up being, especially the girl
>>
>>80107973
It was interesting but technically it wasn't anything special, I actually thought stinkbomb was the one on par with magnetic rose at least in terms of technical execution even if the plot was asinine.

They established that an abstention still counts as a vote. IIRC there were non-english speaking people there. I don't think the aliens cared much aside from if you have a heartbeat you can vote.

>>80108051
lmao I didn't remember that. I watch a lot of terrible horseshit so dumb twists tend to blow right past me. I just liked that it turned out he was on a giant alien simulation planet and that fishburne was a creepy robot.

>>80108066
Yeah with movies like this, especially ones involving any kind of contention within romantic or friend or familial relationships I have a hard time setting aside the fact that they act so fucking stupid but I suppose if I were able to look at my most contentious moments within my own relationships from an outsider perspective I would look pretty fucking retarded too.
In fact I know I would because I spend most of my time trying not to remember that and wanting to die.

>>80108209
To each his own! And no, its not. I love that movie though, multi-director films can be pretty fucking dope. Hard to find any that don't just feel like a string of shorts, though.

I've had a bit of a hard-on for anime military fetishization lately so I will deff be checking this out, anon. Why do weeb faggots have to drive the industry towards making ecchi out of what could have been great. All I wanted from GATE was tanks and choppers and artillery murdering scores and scores of fantasy creatures and instead we've got 2k year old loli death mage OCDONUT fingering herself because of edge.

Dude. This is one of my top 10 and is in no way underrated. See you at the party, Richter.
>>
>>80108807
pretty sure the poster was baiting. Moon is underrated like Firefly is considered by mouth-breathing retards as 'underrated'. Faggots on reddit like to spout it off as if they are god damn 17th century explorers discovering the new world of media.

Not that fanbases inherently make the subject of their fandom bad and im not a little bitch* that thinks calling things "reddit" is a legitimate criticism, but if you do a cross section of people who self-identify as redditors and consider Moon an "underrated masterpiece" the numbers just may surprise you. Again- doesn't mean the movie is bad. I really liked moon and I'm sad that whats-his-face hasn't been in much lately.

Nausicaa, The Element of Crime, and Strange Days as more mainstream choices.

>>80109608
It wasn't bad. Nice sets (not as groundbreaking but still kept the 2001 atmosphere).

It's a pretty good conclusion to the first as they got the starchild actor in it (Keir Dullea).

The only shitty stuff was the cringe Ruskie accent from Helen Mirren.
Only really bad shit

Oh no, I hated 2001.
But I'll check it out.
>>
>>80110818
hmm if you hated 2001 then 2010 might be more your speed. Less of that slow atmospheric no-dialog stuff (like Star Trek: TMP). But not a generic action sci-fi.

I appreciate both movies for what they were so I think the 2nd one was done with the right amount of respect for the 1st.
>>
>>80108909
I liked this a lot too.

Actually good Science Fiction is usually made in really unsexy ways, and even knowing this I can't get the stomach up to watch half the made for scifi channel, or bottom Blockbuster shelf looking shit in this thread.
