Anything can be filmed, Finnegans Wake can be filmed, you just need some vision and the balls to deviate drastically from the source material (the best adaptations all do this, people who love the 'original' will shit the bed, part of having those balls is being able to ignore them).
The things that make a great novel great are not what would make a great film great, trying to translate those things on screen 1:1 is what's unfeasible, but that's a stupid idea in the first place.
