Family is the basis of a human being. Logan was too old, hundreds of years old. he had forgotten what it was like to be a family, and had become dehumanized.

Also, that a family doesnt mean your wife and child. It means those that love you, and stick with you.

Xavier was the only one who knew what family really meant, and he knew that Logan and himself were dying, so they had to save X-23 from becoming another Logan, even if it meant both of their lives. He wanted to give her a family.

I loved this movie, but all the scenes with the kids just irked me. The stupid CGI ice breath, the stupid flying pin needles, etc. It just reeked of Xmen 3. I was hoping this would've just been claws vs. guns the entire time, but they just had to have stupid superpowers. And I couldn't help but giggle every time that fat little nig was on screen, especially when he was running.

Other than that, solid 8/10 would watch again.

Man....it was alright, but what a letdown. The whole weapon x thing is so overplayed now and the english evil scientist made me roll my eyes. For a movie that's so steeped in atmosphere and tonally fitting locales, the twilight-tier forest setting at the end was just such a mediocre way to end it. No cinematic flare in it at all, just felt plain and cheap, especially with the generic soldiers and humvees there.
Still, the calm parts were really good and it was a worthy and dignified way to end Jackman's Wolverine, just wish they'd reallly worked on the story more. As it stands the japan movie still is my favorite.

For such a serious, "slow" and grounded movie I kind of expected some more depth in the story and with the worldbuilding. For instance we didn't really see a legitimate argument against mutants and who benefitted from it. I was thinking when Logan and the rest were taken in by the farmers that the way they chose to do it was the very obvious and clichéd way, where as the more interesting way would have been for the family to have a stigma against the mutants (like when Logan breaks that shotgun in half was a point where he could have reacted) and have the actual family themselves tip the weapon x guys off on their location. I want to like the movie but the worldbuilding and story really wasn't as strong as it could have been.

The most laughable thing about the movie is this tiny kid taking down grown men 3x her size.

Logan has no purpose in life now THAT Xavier is dead, and they've been making a big deal out of this silver bullet he's been saving for himself. I was expecting him to have to make that shot, use the one thing he has to escape this world now that he has nothing left here on himself or evil wolverine to save the girl. Instead of using it on himself now that Xavier is dead, he would have to live on to protect her.

tl;dr The choice to use the silver bullet should've been Logan's, not the girl.
