No, it's like a sad parody of the first one, the quips and wackiness are ramped up to 10, whilst the tension the original had is nonexistent.
Also, they suddenly decided to make Dr. Okun gay, and he keeps calling one of the male scientists 'babe', it's vile.

No, it's unironically a glib facsimile of the original, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are the only vaguely enjoyable things about it and they're not in it nearly enough

Anyone who says that this is any worse than the original is a hack and wont admit the original was just as mediocre.

Solid alien action flick. Better than the Arrival for sure
