Idk sometimes I don't really care about plot as much, I just like the atmosphere of the film. Like Days of Heaven and The Mirror. Tbh I didn't really understand The Mirror that much, I just liked the feel of it.
>>
>>80033320
And what would your list be then? Films are subjective.

>>80033304
The Mirror and M aren't English language. I don't get what you're trying to say.

They're all good in their different ways. They're all films that made me self reflect and reflect on the world a lot after I'd seen them. Possession is just an incredible film, shot beautifully and really unlike anything else I've seen. Mystery Train I don't think is the best movie but I saw a lot of myself in the Japanese character. Come and see is I think the best war movie ever made and truly shows the darkness that humanity can possess, just horrific in every way. Koyanisqatsi is really just an experience, no dialogue or plot more of a visual tone poem, but was really prophetic about climate change and the dangers of the advancement of human civilisation. Thin blue line is just a really brilliant documentary, perfectly told the story of a trial but reveals a lot about people's motivations in doing bad deeds. I would strongly recommend all of them though

2001: A Space Odyssey

I don't know, so hard to pick only ten to represent me, I have more than 10 favorites and they're all so close it's hard to see ten clear winners. Also difficult to keep it one per director, especially when I watch films by going through filmographies. Also I usually pick films that say more about my taste than ones that are everyone's favorites, but for this one I went ahead and included Kane, 2001, Seventh Seal, as they are my favorites. Perhaps instead I could have said World on a Wire, Woman in the Dunes, and Landscape Suicide instead if I wanted to diversify the list, but those didn't quite move me as much. What do you think /tv/?

What do you think of Lynch's other stuff? To me Inland Empire is his most realized. Obviously it's experimental, but every single bit works. It's a very dense film, but it's possible that that doesn't even matter as the surface level alone is a very overwhelming, frightening experience

>>80041479

I have seen movies that blew me away, but I'm gonna have to watch them at least three times, with at least a year in between, to know if it holds up, before I put it on my top 10.

Other times I may not be that impressed by a movie the first time, but then I watch it again and it blows me away.
