Eh, I think it hit the right balance.
It's got bollywood ridicolousness, but not the non-stop kind. There's 2, 3 scenes that are really outrageously silly (The motorcycle chase without motorcycles, and when Chow's character in that booth thing above the traffic lights.)
Beyond that, even when they use powers, it's done really well.
Like, I don't think I can find a good copy of the scene off youtube, but remember how the musicians are introduced, as the youngest master walks away? That whole think with the shadows and everything is set up extremely well.

Like Nigeria's official language is English, a lot of the big newspapers are written in normal English, and the government releases documents in normal English, but what the people actually speak on the streets is this bizarre creole language that is so messed up and disorganized that its name is literally "Broken".
