I think that's the idea behind the film The Blue Lagoon, which probably couldn't be made today. Although there was a TV movie remake with older teens in 2012 starring Indiana Evans.

But not all children wind up being carbon copies of their parents. I've never seen any data that shows that kids of gay parents will turn out gay, it may be that the parents are more tolerant of the child's sexuality. In that the kid isn't pressured into conforming.

You'd need to either separate your groups based on their environment and upbringing. Or look at more historical settings, where sexuality wasn't as rigid as it is in the Abrahamic sphere.

Depending on many countless factors you may take on your immediate environment more (more dogma/indoctrination), take it on less (contrarian/hipster/opposition to norm etc).

I don't view sexuality as 'genetic', but as something that lies in the culture of where you're brought up (monkey see/do). Some places historically were completely tolerant of it, and many would still go on to sire children and take wife. As if fucking the same sex was just an option available (or their preferred). Touchy subject I don't think we'll get to the bottom of these days.
