Saturday Anime on the Sci Fi channel with Iria: Zieram, Project A-ko, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, etc. There was also X-Men and Spider-Man, Beast Wars and then Beast Machines. I think UPN had Technoman, or the original Japanese was Tekkaman. If I had to choose one, probably Saturday Anime, even though it's not a cartoon show, but it was on every Saturday morning.

Yeah, chances are if you were watching the Sci Fi channel for all those Godzilla movies or Anime films, like way before they became SyFy, you probably knew about the live action version of Iria: Zeiram/Zeiram, anyway that's how I learned of it.. I think there was even a SNES version of Iria: Zeiram, but you can only get it with emulaters and stuff because I don't think they released it in America. Oh, and emulaters are illegal and stuff.

I don't think it was anime's fault. The major networks just stopped putting budget into cartoon shows. They started out sourcing more as time went on and that meant getting anime and putting it into the time slots that traditional western cartoons would have filled.
