Legitimately made not want to watch The Exorcist when I was younger. I was a weird kid who was really into horror but also a massive pussy and when I heard there were 'subliminal messages' with the demon's face, I refused to watch it, convinced I was gonna have nightmares and visions of it in the dark.

I watched the movie years later and honestly didn't like it that much.

If I'm to believe what I was told when I was younger, and if I remember when I watched right, the demon's face does flash for a few frames every so often in the movie. I don't think it's quite 'subliminal', but it is meant to evoke a sort of 'what was that?' response. I think my younger mind made more out of it than it was. Whoever told me about the movie used the wrong word, probably. This was years ago, I can't quite recall exactly, but I know 'subliminal messages' were what scared me away from the film.
