Why is he so fucking eager to destroy his legacy as a filmmaker? and what do you think of his output as of now?

I was thinking the same thing after watching that new trailer with the alien at the end and in the thumbnail. It's like he's selling out almost by trying to be like today's shitty action movies rather than be like the original. It truly is a sad day when a director like Scott sells out in an attempt to be popular rather than make something that's actually good.
Look at his filmography
Dude was always hit and miss
His films lie on a really good script, because he is a great visual filmmaker
He's like 80 years old now
dementia

he's een a degenerate alkie for years. google "wet brain". that's what he has. sad cuz alien and the duellits were pure kino.

Ridley Scott's always been a visual director, which he's very good at, but as far a substance goes he's just been lucky enough to receive mostly good scripts up until recently
I don't think he cares anymore.
He's bored, he can't take the bullshit that comes with the job.
But he continues directing because it's the only thing he can do.

He's an alcoholic? That would explain a lot, especially since his brother's death probably took a big toll on him.
Looks good to me

So for the sake of argument, would someone like Zack Snyder, a visual director who can only do visuals well and nothing else, make great films if he suddenly found someone to write good scripts for him?

Is this a comedy?
